Quietly and alone,
a flower blushes
in my cactus garden.
Viciously and slow,
the flower is pricked
by the venomous spines ~ Shahz

Once upon a time
I caught a little rhyme
I set it on the floor
but it ran right out the door
I chased it on my bicycle
but it melted to an icicle
I scooped it up in my hat
but it turned into a cat
I caught it by the tail
but it stretched into a whale
I followed it in a boat
but it changed into a goat
When I fed it tin and paper
it became a tall skyscraper
Then it grew into a kite
and flew far out of sight..- Eve Merriam
**While reviving memories Suddenly I came across this old poem which I learnt as a child.Sharing it as my second submission since it coincides with today’s Prompt Rhyme
Thin, huge, majestic,
Thorny in their special ways.
Pincushions are their bodies
Facing towards the Sun’s rays.

*Pictured here are some from my Cactus collection.
Sitting by the Window watching
Droplets chasing down the pane
Can you hear the rain?.
As it beats against the walls.
Not letting to sit and talk.
The murmur of the rain
washes away all we say,
Let’s be quiet and hear it speak,
The murmuration of its pain,

Daily prompt ~ Murmuration
As I wandered in the garden,
Up and down the patterned path,
Tip toeing in the heat.
The white and yellow flowers stood up proudly in the sun,
Adding colour to my feet.

Many a times,
As you slept so well.
I lie awake watching you.
Focussing my glance at your
Every line , every curve
And the gentle nuances
In your face.
My youngest Son, now sixteen.

This old bench remains still on its place under this tree passing many Moons and Suns in its lifetime.Being the love seat for some and a comforter for others still maintains its good looks of black ebony, the same as when my husband and I first saw it.Witnessing emotions of joy and sorrow and kisses and tears of many as well as ours. It was the place for us one-time where we would spend hours sitting and chatting or arguing and sobbing.
Here we’ve come once again to sit and chat after twenty five years. Not only to chat this time but to ruminate the bygone years of our life together.

Couldn’t think of anything more for this prompt.
Much love ~ Shahz.
With the climatic change the temparature rise.
Along with it the blood suckers rise.
In a swarm they come and settle down in homes
Where the grounds are safe and friendly to breed
Come one by one racing in greed
Disturbing us from our goodnights sleep
Repellents and fumes no use to keep
Coz they’ve evolved so much I weep.
My kid fell prey from then I did pray
That I will fight them back
With this racket I will smack.

Note: My Son fell prey to its deadly greed and was diagnosed with Dengue few years back.I Thank God for his recovery. From then on I try my level best to keep my home mosquito free.Having tried and tested all available sources in vain, finally I feel very comfortable with the Skeeter Racket which does not cause any after effects.
You made me feel like a queen
With your luster and sheen
Giving Endless Glitter and sparkle all over me
But time has changed By force I’d say
To take the next step right away
And now that you’ve lost your shine
I decide on another as mine
How Selfish I am to trade on your gleam
But I am so very sorry It’s the price that I’m keen.
Remember the days I adored you most
And thinking of it now it’s all a waste.
Vivid are the Pictures of you on me of which
I’d always cherish forever as much.
